Before you buy: what’s included, and what your office adds
How it works: self-paced online lessons with short videos and a quiz after each lesson. There is no live class or instructor. Learners can send a question to our trainers from any lesson (we answer within 2 business days) or call (916) 770-4050, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm Pacific. Each person who passes gets a dated certificate of completion. It is not continuing-education (CE) credit.
The plan itself is specific to your building. Walk each person through your exits, meeting spot, alarm, extinguisher locations and who does what. Our lessons cover the rules and the skills, and remind every learner to ask for these details.
Who it’s for
- Everyone who works in the office, from the front desk to the providers.
- New staff when they are first assigned, and anyone whose emergency role changes.
- Staff expected to use fire extinguishers, who need extinguisher training when hired and every year after.
What Cal/OSHA and OSHA require, and when
Cal/OSHA 8 CCR §3220 (federal 29 CFR 1910.38) requires an Emergency Action Plan, and §3221 (federal 1910.39) a Fire Prevention Plan. Employees must be told their duties when the plan is created, when their duties change and when the plan changes, and the plan must be reviewed with each employee on initial assignment. Offices with 10 or fewer employees may share the plans orally.
If employees are expected to use fire extinguishers, §6151(g) requires training on extinguisher use when hired and at least once a year. Offices with a written policy of total evacuation when the alarm sounds are exempt from that part.

Dated, with a serial number
Each person who passes gets a certificate showing their name, practice, program, lessons completed, score and date. Lessons end with a short quiz; the pass mark is 80%.
Anyone can check it
An auditor, inspector or employer can confirm a certificate is genuine at hipaa.comodotechnology.com/verify, with no account and without contacting us.
Not CE credit
It is a certificate of completion: proof the training happened. It is not continuing-education credit and not an accreditation or license.
