Before you buy: what’s included, and what your office adds
How it works: self-paced online lessons with short videos and a quiz after each lesson. There is no live class or instructor. Learners can send a question to our trainers from any lesson (we answer within 2 business days) or call (916) 770-4050, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm Pacific. Each person who passes gets a dated certificate of completion. It is not continuing-education (CE) credit.
The lessons cover the rule and the hazards every office shares. Your practice still needs its own written IIPP, its own inspections, and a short walk-through of hazards specific to each job, such as a new sterilizer or a new chemical.
Your SB 553 workplace violence plan can be a separate section of your IIPP. Our SB 553 program covers that training.
Who it’s for
- Every employee at a California dental, medical or specialty office.
- New hires and staff moving into new duties, as §3203 requires.
- Supervisors and office managers who run inspections and keep the records.
What the IIPP rule requires
8 CCR §3203, under Labor Code §6401.7, requires every California employer to have an effective, written Injury and Illness Prevention Program. There is no minimum size. In 2025 it was Cal/OSHA’s most frequently cited standard in general industry.
Training is required when the program is first set up, for every new employee, for new job assignments, when new substances, processes or equipment bring new hazards, when a new hazard is recognized, and for supervisors about the hazards their staff may face.
Training records and inspection records must be kept for at least one year. Employers with fewer than 10 employees have some simpler options.
Serious injuries, illnesses and deaths must be reported to Cal/OSHA within 8 hours (8 CCR §342), even by offices that don’t have to keep the injury log.

A dated certificate anyone can verify
Dated, with a serial number
Each person who passes gets a certificate showing their name, practice, program, lessons completed, score and date. Lessons end with a short quiz; the pass mark is 80%.
Anyone can check it
An auditor, inspector or employer can confirm a certificate is genuine at hipaa.comodotechnology.com/verify, with no account and without contacting us.
Not CE credit
It is a certificate of completion: proof the training happened. It is not continuing-education credit and not an accreditation or license.
