Before you buy: what’s included, and what your office adds

How it works: self-paced online lessons with short videos and a quiz after each lesson. There is no live class or instructor. Learners can send a question to our trainers from any lesson (we answer within 2 business days) or call (916) 770-4050, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm Pacific. Each person who passes gets a dated certificate of completion. It is not continuing-education (CE) credit.

Some Medicare Advantage and Part D plans ask for their own form or attestation. Check your plan contracts, then download each person’s dated certificate as your record.

Audience

Who it’s for

  • Practices in a Medicare Advantage or Part D plan’s network, whose contracts ask for FWA training.
  • Billing, front desk and clinical staff who handle Medicare claims or documentation.
  • Office managers building a simple compliance program.
The law

Who actually requires FWA training

Federal rules require Medicare Advantage and Part D plan sponsors to run an effective compliance program, including training for their own employees, managers and governing body at least once a year (42 CFR §422.503(b)(4)(vi)(C) and §423.504(b)(4)(vi)(C)).

The current rule text no longer names the providers that contract with those plans. Plan sponsors still oversee their contracted providers, and many still require FWA training in their provider contracts or attestations. Check your plan contracts to see what yours ask for, and how often.

Searches for “FWA training 2026” usually come from that contract or attestation. A dated certificate for each person is the record you hand over.

Anyone can check it

An auditor, inspector or employer can confirm a certificate is genuine at hipaa.comodotechnology.com/verify, with no account and without contacting us.

Not CE credit

It is a certificate of completion: proof the training happened. It is not continuing-education credit and not an accreditation or license.

FAQ

Common questions

Is Medicare FWA training required for providers?
It depends on your contracts. The federal rules require plan sponsors to train their own staff. Many Medicare Advantage and Part D plans still require FWA training from network providers by contract, so check what your plans ask for.
How often should staff take FWA training?
Plans that require it usually ask for it at hire and every year. Our plans run yearly and each certificate is dated, so you can show the current year’s record.
Does this cover exclusion screening?
Yes. Lesson 5 covers reporting, non-retaliation and exclusion screening of staff and vendors.
Is this the CMS training module?
No. It is our own program about the same topics, written for dental and medical practices. It is a certificate of completion, not CE credit.
